The Woodsman Foundation

Background

The Woodsman Foundation was founded in August 2007 by an American backpacker who, while traveling, witnessed children being deprived of an education. Because of the extreme poverty in some regions of the world, instead of attending school, children must work to provide for their families. They do this by begging or selling themselves.

The Woodsman Foundation was created to provide scholarships and financial aid to children who want to get an excellent education and want to study at a school in the United States. The Woodsman Foundation raises funds through charitable contributions and then awards that money to a school of its choosing. Monies raised specifically go towards textbooks, uniforms, housing, food, tuition, and school supplies. The children selected to receive this wonderful opportunity will also have the chance to continue their education at an American University.

Objective

An education should be available to every child who wants to learn. Some places in the world offer only a limited education due to poverty, location, and/or government capabilities, restrictions and laws. The Woodsman Foundation is dedicated to providing children a way to achieve their dream of being able to attend an American school and have the best education offered. Our goal is to extend a helping hand to any child that is being deprived of knowledge due to the fact that they were simply born in a country that limits their potential in a functional society by not providing a sound educational system. Rest assured that every dollar raised will go towards getting children to a school that caters to their every need and provides them with a bright future.
